The first time I ever did this exercise in the early 2000’s, I used this method. I had always been taught, that if you don’t know how to continue, it is best to just park the casualty in his descender and backup, reassess and make a new plan. That is exactly what I did and lo and behold we passed the knots. I think it is still sound advice at any moment when you get stuck.
